The Rooms We Build offers a glimpse into the arts and classic work of previous generations with a modern twist. Artist Angelina Palmisano offered a look back into the mastery of Sandro Boticelli, as she delved into her parents’ story and their deep appreciation for Carrot Cake. The artist said that she was inspired by his work. “The painting is a garden of love, friendship, and family,” added Palmisano.
Another featured artist Stacie Becker, had work depicting her life, inspired slightly by the surrealist work of Frida Kahlo. “I was inspired by the Two Frida’s paintings.” Her surrealist style painting also showcases fish, that were ripped apart by society.
The painting directly below was painted by Puerto Rican artist Alberto Alonso. He depicts the impossibility of homesickness and nostalgia born from the impossibility of returning to his home of a Puerto Rico transformed by time, disaster, and human-driven change, added the UCF website.
