The Orlando Fringe Festival, each year allows people the opportunity to see some new local theatre productions at a fraction of the cost of other arts centers and theatres. Last night I enjoyed a remake of the charming film Sweet Home Alabama, that starred Reese Witherspoon, among other notable actors. The 2002 film explored the idea that you can go home again. It talked of love and loss and second chances. The feel-good movie was adapted for the stage by Unseen Images Theatre in a new musical adaptation of the story by the same name. A rip-roaring, knee-slapping country and western remake was one of the many entries on display at the Orlando Fringe Festival. The festival runs through May 26.
