Drawing With Creativity

Students who are struggling readers, or are ESOL students, or are nonverbal learners identify with drawing activities that allow them to speak without words.

Drawing and sketching can enhance fine motor skills, boost self-esteem, and provide a safe outlet for self-expression. The ability to process the main idea of a story, is essential in helping to process the main idea of a reading passage. It also allows teachers and therapists to gain insights into the individual’s thoughts and feelings, facilitating better communication.
